Yes, Manukora is still UMF certified. However, in 2022 we opted to remove the UMF certification from our labels and focus on MGO grading certification to avoid confusion between numbers.
MGO is one of the key bioactive compounds in Mānuka honey. The higher the MGO, the higher the other key bioactives such as Leptosperin (a key antioxidant) which we also test for.
UMF is simply a different system to measure the same bioactive compounds in Manuka (MGO, DHA, HMF, Leptosperin). We test every single one of these (+ more such as glyphosate residue) at third-party labs and make them available on our QR trace system on every product.
As a result, we no longer show a UMF value on our lab reports but you can see all of the test results for the key compounds including NPA (nonperoxide activity).
Crystallization is a completely normal process for high-quality, raw Mānuka honey which can occur over time. This natural occurrence indicates a low moisture content, which is a result of the bees doing a great job of capping the honeycomb, a process in which they “dehydrate” the honey. As a result of this, quality Mānuka honey does not require fine filtering or heating.
To minimize crystallization in our Mānuka honey, we use a creaming process (which is all natural!) that aerates the honey and gives it a thick creamy consistency, however, the crystal structures sometimes return as we do not heat to high temperatures or use ultra filtering processes in order to retain the beneficial properties of the raw Mānuka honey.
If you would like the Mānuka honey to flow a little more please place it in a slightly warmer environment, or if this is not available, please place the closed jar in a bowl of warm water.

The MGO1123+ jar, priced at $200.00 for a small 8.8oz container, arrived unsealed with a crust on top, and the cap was only lightly tightened.
In contrast, the MGO1000+ jar, priced at $120.00 for the same 8.8oz size, comes with a proper seal and a breakaway ring on the cap.
Do you think it’s acceptable to receive an unsealed container with a cap that isn’t even securely tightened? This seems very suspicious. To make matters worse, they refuse to accept returns or issue a refund.
That happened to me too. No refunds.
